Discovery weekend
It’s our favorite hotel in Tagaytay: Discovery Country Suites! It’s spacious and well worth every single centavo that we paid premium for (room rates vary from Php5000 to Php10,000). The hotel only has seven rooms (i.e., Andalucia, Ceylon, Nantucket, Nara, Oxford, Saint-Tropez, and Siam), with each one varying in design. As soon as we entered this little boutique hotel, warmly greeted by the staff, including the guard up front, we were handed welcome drinks, and our reservations were checked and confirmed. We were then escorted to our room by a young lady who insisted that she carry our weekend luggage despite my protest. She led the way to our suite that night: Andalucia.
The Andalucia suite offers the warmth and landscape of the Moorish Spanish countryside with earthen toned walls and warm terra cotta beddings.
After depositing our bag on the side, she gave us a small tour of the suite. The bathroom and its light switches, towels, and bath products (shampoo, shower gel, and lotion) from L’Occitaine, and simple instructions on how to operate the LCD TV and DVD player (a small glass closet near the stairs has a small collection of DVDs and books available for guests to borrow). She also reminded us of the complimentary wine and cheese tasting (with hors d’oeuvres) later in the afternoon, which we unfortunately had to decline as we had to be somewhere else. After a refreshing shower, however, we didn’t want to leave our room. I mean, how can you leave when your room is so cozy, and you just want to cuddle and lay there all day. =( The beds in the picture looks a bit ruffled as I jumped on it the minute the usher shut the door!
The beds are quite huge and could comfortably accomodate three people per bed.
We were back in our suite before we knew it. And later, at around 9 PM, after a shower, again, because we can’t get enough of the awesome bath products, we heard a knock on the door, and we were served our complimentary nightcap of warm milk and cookies. I could have (would have) asked for seconds, and thirds, but I was too shy to ask. It was so good that I wanted to stuff myself with it. What a great way to end one’s evening. :o:

Wow, that looks like a really nice hotel! I’m a sucker for freebies, so the wine/cheese tasting and the milk was definitely a plus.
And you know what they say, sometimes the bathroom’s so beautiful that you forget you still have clothes on when you hit the shower.

andalucia? parang sa movie na enchanted ha!
i very rarely (very na rarely pa) stay in a “posh” hotel when traveling. i think it’s one of those things you can save money on. that’s wh yI don;t have that much experience with very nice hotels. i actually prefer homey, cheap accommodations. he! he! budget traveler through and trough!

Dyanie and Caryn: Very comfy beds. All very luxurious. Excellent service, feeling VIP! It’s good to indulge once in a while. You get your money’s worth.
Ka: Don’t worry, nagamit naman pareho
Jetty: Panalo freebies dito. Eat all you can yung cheese and drink all you can yung wine.
Dong Ho: Meron, kaso with wifey and me. Sobrang nakakahiya yata ipost yung pics namin. The lawn below isn’t that big pero ok na rin. We actually considered getting married here but they can only accomodate around 100 guests.
