I’m not a big fan of tags. Particularly, loooong tags. That’s not to say I look down on people who do a lot of tags. No sir! On the contrary, I kinda envy those people. That means those have a lot of nice things to say and have the endurance to write it all down nice and perfect. But me? KJ ako. It’s basically because I’m a very lazy person, I procrastinate a lot, and if I can delay something as troublesome as making a list of things about me, I’d put it off. In addition, I also don’t want to bore you with sordid details about my life. When tagged, most often than not, I’d start to vigorously write to fill all the fine points needed, and then, somewhere in the middle, I lost stream, or something shiny caught my attention, and I totally forget all about it.

So when Wits tagged me with 10 birthday wishes, it’s best that I do it right away and get it over with, or I wouldn’t do it at all. And since I’m a nice guy (hehe), and it’s only 10 wishes of my wants and needs, I’d gladly do it. If I fall short, I’ll throw in world peace. So here are my 10 birthday wants and needs.

1. I want (need) continued (or maybe more) blessing and favor from God. I know that He knows the desires of my heart, and that He has nothing but good plans for me and my family.

2. I want (need) a good night’s rest, every night. I’m a very light sleeper, and on top of that, I find it hard to sleep. I need no distractions if I want to sleep, that means comfy sheets (nothing itchy) and clothes, total silence (no TV, radio, or dripping faucets), and not too hot or cold. In other words, maarte ako. My wife, on the other hand, can sleep whenever and wherever she wants. After kissing me and saying good night, barely a minute or two, she’s snoring her way to dreamland. As of this writing, I’ve had two bad nights of rough sleep, if any. June Update: Eversince we’ve had our finances under control (we’re now debt free, see the steps here, it might work for you too), I’ve had a good sleep every night.

3. I want (need) an SLR and to take up photography and digital imaging lessons.

4. I want (need) a laptop. And not one of those tiny UMPCs or notebooks. Preferably, a Mac. So I can store and edit all my photos, and maybe blog about it. June Update: Just bought our Acer Aspire laptop. Woot! Woot!

5. I want to go to Bantayan Island and Malapascua. Ever since I saw Anton‘s series on these islands years ago, I’ve fallen for it. I must see it. March Update: We bought a ticket bound for Cebu last Saturday. We’ll be in Bantayan Island on my birthday!

6. I want to see and explore Palawan. I want to see the caves and visit every island. I want to take up diving and explore the life underneath.

7. I want to travel and explore Palau, Maldives, Dubai, Africa, and Europe. I want to sample their food, experience their culture, etc.

8. I want to have our dream house someday. Nothing too big or small, something that’s just right for us. We’re currently on the market looking for a small piece of land here in Paranaque.

9. I want good health for my family.

10. World peace. See? I’m not totally selfish.
